Een gouden tip voor wie graag een groot stuk Zweden wil zien tijdens één reis: Inlandsbanan. Deze trein neemt je dwars door Zweden mee van Kristinehamn in het zuiden naar Gällivare in het hoge noorden, en zoals ze zelf aangeven in hun brochure is hier de reis eigenlijk het doel op zich.
Je kan gelijk waar aan boord stappen en weer afstappen, je kan een georganiseerde reis boeken of zelf je weg uitstippelen. Ze werken samen met verscheidene hotels en restaurants, maar ook hier ben je vrij om te kiezen.
De georganiseerde reizen (7 tot 10 dagen) zijn vooral toegespitst op cultuur en traditie en zeker de moeite waard: je komt in contact met de traditionele Samen of je kan in combinatie met de trein een boottocht maken langs de noorse fjorden. Een sportieveling kan de Kebnekaise beklimmen enz. Kortom, het kan van echte gezinsuitstap tot actieve doe-vakantie.
